Description: This is a one day introductory workshop, which will cover the basics of working with hot beeswax applied in layers to create your own unique piece of art. During the session, you will learn about tools, materials and different techniques to create your encaustic wax painting in a safe environment.

Various techniques may include:

• Shellac burn

• Photo-encaustic

• Mixed media application

Participants are encouraged to bring along photographs, organic materials or anything that will spark your creativity. Participants will leave with a finished panel, and the techniques required to continue to develop your own style of encaustic painting.
