Ava Hayes

Art teacher

Ava Hayes is a visual artist based in Cork City. In 2016 she was the national winner of ARTiculation Ireland which prompted her to begin her artistic education in 2017. Over the last five years she has since received her BA (Hons) in Fine Art from the Crawford College of Art and Design and is currently undertaking her Master’s Degree in Art and Process.

Upon graduating Ava was awarded Sample Studios Graduate Curatorial Residency and MTU’s Arts Office Residency. Ava has always remained busy, her dedication has given her experience with numerous art institutions including The Glucksman Gallery, as an intern in Cork Craft & Design and as a resident in Sample Studios. She has extensive experience not only in the visual arts and culture sector but also in teaching, mentoring and community engagement.

Ava has worked for over four years with MTU’s Good Start Programme, which focuses on welcoming and supporting new students from a wide variety of backgrounds within their first year of college. From this experience we at Chapel Hill are delighted to have Ava on board as a children’s Art teacher. Ava’s teaching approach focuses on inclusivity, support and sheer enjoyment through creativity, we know the children will love her!
